Bare Minerals’ most profitable U.S. district experiences unforeseen closures

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Krystal Roa, the assistant manager at a different Jacksonville Bare Minerals has been with the brand for almost a year. According to Roa, the company emphasized the Florida district was excluded from the one 100 brick and mortar stores due to profitability. Roa said The corporation didn't provide information about altered business decisions to the remaining employees. The now-closed boutique housed a staff of six, four permanent, in-house and two floaters who were taken by surprise. As a result, current employees within the subsidiary were left with fears for job security, from the lack of transparency, according to Roa.

Caitlin Canfield, a floating beauty ambassador for both local stores, expressed the change in morale at the Avenues Mall location. What felt like an overnight closure has current staff and customers questioning the sustainability of the Bare Minerals brand, according to Canfield.

Roa and Canfield were uninformed of what Shiseido's officials are calling a "2020 vision" for the brand. Earlier this year, business guru, Natasha Spencer, published an in-depth plan of action intended for 2 three-year windows, 2015-2017, followed by 2018-2020. In 2017, ahead of schedule, the multinational corporation exceeded its sales goal for its "2020 vision," according to Spencer.

"Its new three-year plan will move onto a new strategy to accelerate growth to help Shiseido become a top three company in the global prestige cosmetics market," Spencer said. Shiseido, the Japan-based enterprise owns 96 subsidiaries and 22 associated companies, according to Newswire.
